Many of your favorite celebrities have undergone LASIK surgery — and loved the results.

LASIK eye surgery is a popular solution for correcting eyesight, whether you suffer from nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Lasik is an acronym for “laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis.” It involves using a laser to reshape your cornea so it can focus light rays clearly onto the retina

For glasses and contact lens wearers looking for a simpler, hassle-free alternative, Lasik can offer an ideal solution. For many—including many celebrities — life after LASIK can be a transformative experience. Read on to see which of your favorite stars underwent Lasik, and what they had to say about the experience.

Celebrities Who Have Had LASIK

1. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is one of the best-known female artists in the world. Since she exploded onto the pop scene in the early 2010s, her albums have received record-breaking numbers of awards and nominations. In 2019, Swift decided to undergo LASIK eye surgery to improve her vision. Speaking about the surgery on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she said, “It was great, I really can see very well [now].”

2. Brad Pitt

Hollywood favorite and 2020 Academy Award winner Brad Pitt also underwent LASIK surgery in 2010. Before receiving corrective surgery, Pitt’s poor eyesight caused a lot of uncomfortable encounters with friends and fans. He failed to recognize them because he simply couldn’t see them.

3. Nicole Kidman

Australian actress Nicole Kidman was almost legally blind before she chose LASIK surgery in 2007. After receiving two Academy Award nominations, Kidman wanted to be prepared to read an acceptance speech when the time came. Following the surgery she said, “Now I have 20-20 vision. I can’t believe I spent so many years with blurry eyesight, but I think that coincides with how I was feeling at that time. Now I can actually see if people are watching me, and I can also smile right back if someone waves!”

4. Courtney Cox

The actress famous for her portrayal of Monica on F.R.I.E.N.D.S chose to get LASIK eye surgery in 1999. Following the surgery she saw a significant improvement in her quality of life. Having the surgery was the easiest and most effortless thing I have ever done.”

5. LeBron James

LeBron James, one of the most successful basketball players in history, chose to undergo LASIK in 2007. In fact, he told reporters that he could see the basketball net and rim much more clearly following the surgery.

6. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian’s name is synonymous with glitz and glamour. The reality star is one of the most recognizable figures of the decade. In 2009 Kim decided to perfect her vision with LASIK, eliminating any nagging concerns about glasses or contacts.
