Other Considerations for Cataract Symptoms

A cataract is a cloudy area in the lens of your eye. As we age, the proteins that make up the lenses of our eyes break down and form clusters, which causes our natural lens to become cloudy and hazy over time resulting in vision loss over time. Cataract surgery replaces the cloudy lens with an artificial lens called intraocular lenses.

There are several treatment options available with cataract surgery. With standard IOL, vision is clear but you may still need reading glasses or contact lenses as were needed before the procedure. Premium intraocular lenses greatly reduce or eliminate the need for corrective eyewear. Consult with your eye doctor on your vision goals to find the best fit for you.

Please contact Swagel Wooton Eye Institute for professional medical advice regarding eye care and vision problems.
