Home Preparing for your Appointment
We’re looking forward to seeing you for your appointment!

We know you’re probably asking, “what’s next” so we put together a few things to help you feel more confident, comfortable, and prepared. This page will be your guide to preparing for your appointment at Swagel Wootton Eye Institute. We encourage you to read this page carefully so you will be well informed for you upcoming appointment.

Preparing for your appointment is easy!

  • What to Bring

Please be sure to bring your Driver’s License or State ID and insurance cards to your appointment, along with a list of current medications, including dosage and frequency and a list of surgical procedures, including dates. You may be asked to submit a photo of your insurance card and ID before you check-in.

  • Being Dilated

During the medical eye evaluation, you will be dilated to allow for thorough testing. Dilation can cause sensitivity to light for several hours after your exam. Most patients are able to drive after dilation.

  • Further Treatment

Some patients may be referred to another doctor at our practice should there be need for further treatment or surgical intervention. To learn more about the services we offer at Swagel Wootton, please use the links below to explore our website further.
