Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Before going into private practice, Dr. Hammond, served honorably in the military in active duty for four years as an ophthalmologist. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Humanitarian award for his efforts during Hurricane Katrina and also served as Chief of Ophthalmology and Director of Warfighter Refractive Surgery at Landstauhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
Dr. Hammond attended Utah State University for his undergraduate work and then George Washington University for medical school. He completed his internship as well as his residency in ophthalmology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C.
Dr. Hammond and his wife have four sons and one daughter. Family means everything to the Hammonds. Dr. Hammond enjoys spending time with his family snow skiing or spending a day on the lake water skiing and enjoying uninterrupted time as a family. A self-described “foodie”, Dr. Hammond enjoys preparing meals with his wife or just relaxing on the couch with a movie.
